Maui Turtle Reef Kayak Tour of Makena

Paddle out from Makena Landing for a relaxed kayak and snorkel adventure along Maui's south shore. The route follows the coastline of a historic volcanic cove, with views toward Haleakala and clear water leading to Turtle Reef.

Once you reach the snorkel area, slip into the water to explore the reef and look for schools of tropical fish and Hawaiian green sea turtles. Your guide knows where marine life is often found and stays with the group throughout the experience.

The paddle is approximately 1.5 to 2 miles, and both single and double touring kayaks are available. Small group sizes keep the outing personal, while beach instruction and guide-assisted launches help make the experience approachable for first-time paddlers as well as returning kayakers.
