Waipio Horseback Adventure

Explore the Hamakua countryside on horseback with a guided ride through a 500-acre working cattle ranch near Waipio. The trail moves through open pasture, coconut and banana groves, fruit trees, fishponds and other parts of the ranch while your guide shares stories about the land, local agriculture and the area's history.

As the ride continues, enjoy broad ocean views and changing scenery from the saddle. The route also passes alongside the historic Hamakua Ditch, once used to irrigate sugarcane fields during Hawaii's plantation era. Fresh fruit grown on the ranch may be sampled during the experience.

This is a ranch ride with ocean views rather than a ride into Waipio Valley or down to the beach. Group size is limited to eight guests, giving the tour a more personal and relaxed pace.
